of Transportation and Communications (MOTC)
Project Type
Consulting Project
The
Challenge
This strategic consulting research intended to assist DGT to objectively
evaluate Taiwan's international standing in terms of Internet
usage, fixed line, wireless and broadband access service markets
progression among leading and neighboring nations in preparation
for Taiwan's long-term development scheme of becoming the hub
of Asia communication.
The
Solution
We designed a multinational
market tracking program to cover the US, Japan, China, South Korea,
Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan with careful examination into
targeted country's economic conditions, regulatory status, government
initiatives, industrial directions, service utilization along
with pricing schemes, demand-side analyses and future forecasts.
The Result
Taiwan's
gradual liberalization in the telecom service markets opens new
doors for long-term growth. However, a fair grounded competitive
environment is crucial to a healthy industrial progression and
a robust national competitive advantage.
