The Challenge

Our client intended to have a better understanding about Taiwan's LAN market, specifically the NIC, HUB, Switch, and Router. They wanted to know the industry forecast as well as channel diagrams of the leading industry players.

The Solution

We interviewed the major Taiwan LAN vendors, included Cisco, D-Link, IBM, Actton, 3Com, C-Net, Bay, Intel, HP, Digital, and other small vendors. We also interviewed each vendor's selected distributors and resellers. We collected the shipment data by vendor, by technology, by bus type, by form factors, like Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Token Ring, ISA, PCI, PCMCIA, etc. We combined each vendors' forecast and collected industry gurus' opinions to make the final judgment & our forecast. We provided leading vendors' channel diagrams and analyzed the strength and weakness of their sales channels.
